Founded on September 16, 1961, in Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil, by combining the knowledge and skills of an electrician, a manager, and a mechanic, Eletromotores Jaraguá started its journey. With the courage of these visionary entrepreneurs, the company grew, and after a while, the company's name was changed to WEG, as a tribute to its founders' initials. Today, WEG is one of the world's largest manufacturers of electrical equipment, with production facilities in 37 countries, including a production facility in Turkey to serve our region.
While WEG initially focused on producing electric motors, in the 1980s, it began expanding its activities by manufacturing electric and electronic components, products for industrial automation, power and distribution transformers, liquid and powder coatings, and electrical insulation varnishes. The company broadened its role, strengthening its position not only as a motor manufacturer but also as a supplier of industrial electrical systems.
With a product range designed for operation in heavy industrial conditions, WEG stands out today as one of the four engineering partners worldwide for the WEG brand.
